The Goal: The development of an easily managed web-resource for BrainStorm's services.
Used Technologies: PHP, MySQL, Apache, xmlRPC
Frameworks: TYPO3 CMS
About:
BPMInstitute.org and SOAInstitute.org web-sites were developed to be informational source on Business Process Management and Service Oriented Architecture. Implementation is made using the TYPO3 content management framework. The web-content consists mostly of articles, presentations while the site is used to arrange web-seminars, forums, and conferences. Content is provided by the companies working in the field of business process management and service oriented architecture. Though, access to the content part of the web-site is free, membership is necessary to gain access to some premium-content and different meetings arrangements. A discount is given to the corporate clients.
BPMInstitute.org staff used to work with the content and manage it themselves. To increase the effectiveness of content-management and to allow BPMInstitute.org clients manage the content part a new system had been developed.
The project is very specific because new development tasks are permanently given (editing existing program features and development of new ones), thus, the project is constantly in progress.
Both BPMInstitute.org and SOAInstitute.org work on the same TYPO3 content management framework installation. A highly customized version of tt_news extension is integrated in the system. Besides this, many completely custom extensions according to the customer's requirements have been developed. The content data is very integrated from registration to member activity leading to being very difficult to use standard extensions. The customization level is very high in this project, almost all system features were developed specially for this very project. For example; sponsor_content_scheduler for sponsor content authoring, job_resume_mgr for job bank, and news_event_register for round tables.
